Guided River Trips

Take a guided trip down the Winooski or the Mad River and enjoy the beauty of Vermont’s natural landscape. Relax and let our experienced guides give you the instruction you need to safely wind your way down the river as you observe the beautiful scenery and Vermont’s wildlife. The price includes your boat rental, all necessary equipment, transportation and guide service. All you need to do is pack a lunch and appropriate clothing and footwear. We do all the rest. No flip-flops please!

Guided tours take place every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Trips leave Clearwater Sports at 9:30 am and return at approximately 3:00 pm.

Full Moon Cruise

Paddle to a secluded spot in the center of scenic Waterbury Reservoir and enjoy a fully-prepared gourmet meal in a unique setting. After dinner relax by the fire, take a canoe and explore the reservoir, or go for a swim. Anything goes on our infamous trip. When we are ready, we will return to the shore with only the moon to light the way. The price includes dinner, equipment rental and transportation from Clearwater Sports. This trip can also be booked as a private party anytime, with a group of ten or more.

Tubing the Mad River

Nothing is more fun and relaxing then floating down the pristine and scenic Mad River. Let Clearwater Sports bring you to the perfect starting point and pick you up two hours later as you float down this wonderful stretch of our glorious river. Our tubes are cloth covered so there is no chafing on the hot rubber and we even have tubes designed to float down your refreshments. Of course kids are welcome with tubes of all sizes. This stretch of the river features a few easy rapids, some quick water and plenty of lazy relaxation. Come back to your childhood days and enjoy this unique Vermont experience.

Family Overnight Paddle Trips

Join other families or create your own group to go on an overnight canoe journey on a beautiful Central VT lake! Clearwater supplies guides, canoes, transportation, food, cooking equipment and paddling instruction. This trip is a great way to experience the fun of a family canoe trip without the hassle of arranging transportation, securing boats, or scouring guide books for the best locations. We take care of all the details- you have fun with your family! Trips leave at 10:30 am and return the following day by 3 pm.

All ages welcome.
